Psalm Reflection: Holy Trinity Sunday (Cycle B)

“For the Lord’s word is upright; all his works are trustworthy.” - Psalm 33:4

Do you only trust God when your plans work out? Or do you trust Him even in the midst of difficulties; when things you hoped or expected to happen fall through? It’s easy to trust in times of comfort or convenience, but when life gets stressful, cloudy, or unclear, it’s easy to put our faith to the side. When we treat God like an ATM, we get angry when the gifts stop. If we only care about what we get, we can get frustrated when we don’t get what we want. Trust and reliance on God is difficult when we see Him like this. However, if we recognize the reality that EVERYTHING is gifted to us, we take whatever God gives with gratitude. This week, listen to the song “More Than Anything” by Natalie Grant, and reflect on the words of the Chorus:

“Help me want the Healer

More than the healing

Help me want the Saviour

More than the saving

Help me want the Giver

More than the giving

Oh help me want You Jesus

More than anything.”

We are praying for you this week! See you in the Eucharist.
